Coverage fills in over time because the reporting lags the calendar year. Many organizations file on extension (Form 8868), pushing the effective deadline to November 15. For example, a 2024 calendar-year filing isn't originally due until May 2025, and with an extension, it's pushed to November 2025. Then the IRS takes several months to process and publish it. This means in 2026, the "most recent" available data for a club is often its 2024 filing. Harbor Commons updates continuously as new e-filed returns appear in the IRS public dataset. Learn more →
What is this?
Harbor Commons is a public corpus of IRS 990 filings for sailing organizations — processed and made legible for the practitioners who steward them. GMs, commodores, treasurers, and committee leads use it to understand financial position, ask better questions, and benchmark against genuinely comparable organizations instead of anecdotes.
